Red Mistletoe Cactus (Pseudorhipsalis ramulosa)  Trailing, epiphytic (tree-dwelling) cactus of flattened, ribbon-like stems. Originating in South America, these prolific stems can grow over 2.0' long. They produce lots of pale blooms that turn into small berries. Moderate stress from bright sun, drought, or cool temperatures (40-50F) can induce the stems to flush violet. No need to worry about spines on this cactus; it's safe to touch!

Light: Red Mistletoe Cactus love being close to bright, sunny windows. Place it less than 1ft from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth. Red Mistletoe Cactus does not tolerate low-light.

Watering: Red Mistletoe Cactus prefers for the soil to dry out between waterings and should be watered regularly. Use our water calculator to personalize watering recommendations to your environment or download Greg for more advanced recommendations for all of your plants.

Ensure that your mistletoe cactus is planted in well-drained soil. Potted plants benefit from a saucer filled with rocks and water to increase the ambient humidity in the home interior. The plant rarely needs fertilizing and has few other needs except moderate light and even moisture. Fertilize with a half dilution of cactus food from April to September, once per month. Water frequently in spring and summer, but suspend water in winter.
