Philodendron Split Leaf
Philodendron Split Leaf
Split-leaf Philodendron or windowleaf (Monstera deliciosa) is a tropical plant native to rainforests of Central America from southern Mexico to Panama, and commonly grown as a foliage houseplant. They can be very vigorous growers and need support to keep the stems from breaking. Provide a tree bark or strong, moss-covered support sunk into the pot for the aerial roots to attach to.
Light: Philodendrons do well in a range of light conditions. They prefer moderate to bright indirect light, but can tolerate shadier lighting conditions as well. Avoid direct sunlight.
Water: Keep the soil moist at all times. Allow the top of the soil to dry out slightly before re-watering. Will tolerate some degree of drought better than having its roots too wet.
